[rescue] Forget flying piggies.... how about a scanner on a sun?

I have a chance to rescue a scsi scanner (HP scanjet IIp).
Is there any way to hookup/run/drive such a critter on a sparc?
I was thinking this little LX crate or maybe the ss5 or ss10 next
to it might be able to run it IFF the requisite driving software
were about.  Anyone doing anything like this?

Any insights are appreciated....(I really don't wanna run a winblows
box to do this unless I have to.....
