Hi
Just a little add on to this.
I am often struggling to find enough larger men DIMMs for the SS20. The
501-2480 is the official 64Mb DIMM, but you can use the later 501-3136 128Mb,
but it will only be recognised as 64MB, however they appear plentiful as they
were used in many of the Ultra class systems. There is one issue however and
that there were essentially two styles of 3136, one appears to have some form
of regulator on it and that does not work. The one without it is the one that
works. You will not damage the SS20 if you try the one with the regulator, it
just will not be recognised.

there's a CG6 in the machine, and I have a few TGXs sitting around.

go in order... check page 36 of the service manual. Slot 0 is the one furthest
from the sbus/mbus slots.

cards, I don't have any personally but they are some of the hottest modules as
far as I know you don't want those modules to die from overheating SM71s are
semi rare much rare than SM81s ironically. I have SM81s in mine but there is
an extra fan in there and few other cards.

quickly since people don't realize you can run SM81s as they aren't officially
compatible. SM71s and SM81s were only sold in Sparcservers I think since those
have hefty cooling.
