> 01:00.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82580 Gigabit Network Connection [8086:150e] (rev 01)
> Subsystem: Intel Corporation Ethernet Server Adapter I340-T4 [8086:12a2]

8086:150e appears to be supported, 8086:12a2 not. I'm not sure whether
that means it'd work or not; I'm not familiar enough with how that
output syntax corresponds to the PCI configuration registers, but
looking at pcireg.h makes me suspect it would work.

> 00:08.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82541PI Gigabit Ethernet Controller [8086:107c] (rev 05)
> Subsystem: Intel Corporation PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter [8086:1376]

Again, 8086:107c appears to be supported but 8086:1376 not.

So there's at least a good chance either one would work. I'll ask
around and see if I can find anyone here selling either one; the
machine appears to have a PCIe slot, so it might be as simple as
dropping a card into the existing machine.

Many thanks for the pointers!
