This will often be given as "low impedance" or "high ripple" instead, and
possibly marked "for SMPS". I've paid attention to long endurance too in
part selection; note that with the drop of working temperature endurance
doubles by every 10B0C. Of course high ripple current as present in parts
used in SMPSs combined with insufficiently low ESR causes the rise of the
part's temperature from the heat produced (E = IB2 x R x t), and you can
figure out easily how it affects the part's lifetime. I tend to chase
catalogue pages for the original parts so as to make sure any substitutes
have the impedance/ESR preferably lower.
So choose your replacements wisely!
