I was taken aback by the huge shipping costs. Since it's all open source, I
had some PCB's made and ordered components. I will have enough to supply 9 DIY
kits shortly (the 10th is for myself). For people in Europe (which is where I
am) I can provide a kit at much lower cost, partly because I can ship for much
less than $40. If you're interested, send me a mail. The surplus I will put on
tindie. (Note that I do not intend so sell a lot of these, it's just that
buying 10 PCBs is about as expensive as 1, and buy buying parts for 10 kits
the price per kit goes down considerable. It was a nice journey in figuring
out how to program the MCU and get a RPi to do so for me.)
