As I said, the en dash (and bullet) are 8-bit ANSI characters and
should work on most things, including OS X Macs.

Got any better alternatives?

Like I said -- I checked.

I've also looked on other mailing lists I'm on and it's going through
them fine, so I think it's just this one.

Nonetheless, I don't want it to happen, so I will switch from 8-bit
ANSI to 7-bit ASCII.
