Interesting.  Can it do this as part of the SMTP transaction, or does it
bounce the message later?

There is a far more sinster basis for interoperability--one that quickly
displaces published standards: corporate fiat.  Despite all the extra
crap I've added to my mail server and DNS records over the years,
sending mail to folks is often a challenge because so many rely on the
mail-exchanging services of only a few companies.  These companies are
all to eager to hide mail from small servers in a "Junk" folder or deny
connections outright, even when I'm trying to report their spam to
postmaster@

But I'm sure if we all used their awful services (including their
bloated top-posting Javascript-based MUAs) so they could use our every
word in ad sales, we'd have no interoperability problems at all.
