Thanks Kurt - re: SunOS 4.1.1, if you can spare the bytes I can give
you some online location you can drop the image itself, I managed to
keep an old burner around. I never had original tapes, I just got some
new old stock and wrote/read them right away. Somehow the band inside
was still mostly OK.

BTW - does anyone know who runs sun3arc? I'd really like to do
something to help/contribute - even if it's to donate towards
hosting/bandwidth/domain costs. I spent more time on that site than I
can count.

Dan.

Mine was clearly smashed so hard that the frame buffer came loose and was rattling around in the box and the main header on it ended up with a broken pin. Part of my plastic back bezel shattered into tiny pieces which I saved but not feeling like fixing it is high on my priority list. Looks good enough on my stack of other old Sun pizza boxes.

Although they used to be cheaper and it seems like he is only doing it part time now due to Covid related health issues. The cartridges are always the tricky part. I've had some success with the pastibands method per Curious Marcs videos but they feel a bit too snug. Its too bad someone cant make aftermarket bands to the same specs as the originals. All the Sun Tapes I have have sadly disintegrated with the oxide layer damaged. Fortunately the images are all available on the Sun3Arc.
