To add ones from my experience:
= Some Wide/Narrow compatibility weirdness (mostly wide drives on narrow buses) where the newer 68- and 80-pin UltraWide drives would refuse to work unless the upper byte of the Bus was actively terminated. That was likely because on a 50-pin bus the upper byte would just have been flapping in the breeze and likely caused noise issues.
= Late Ultra160 and all Ultra320 drives I’ve used completely lack any support for legacy Fast SCSI Narrow or Wide controllers. For example said SCA drives don’t work via (known good) SCA-68 adapters on a DEC Alpha Wide SCSI card and also don’t respond when used with (known good) SCA-68/50 adapters on legacy 8-bit Narrow buses (Apple, Amiga, DEC, Sun etc). I have a sneaking feeling they didn’t work in a SS20 either.
I think the latter is Host controller related so depending what Host adapter you plug the 711 into it might magically work or it might not.
