[rescue] differences between Ultrasparc IIIi CPU's

Hi

On the V210 and V240 the motherboards were the same, but two different variants. First gen went to 1.28ghz the second to 1.5ghz. There are speed selection onboard so which CPU you use will be clocked at selected motherboard rate nothing to do with CPU. From memory the fastest V210 was 1.3 something ghz which was a marketing decision I guess but used same board as 1.5ghz V240. Usually the CPU has its tested rating stamped on it eg 1.28. It can be used up to that and sometimes over that at a push eg 1.5 cpu in 1.6ghz board

As to memory try to go for pc2700 as that will run at lowest value I understood.
