My dad once returned to work (@ IBM Hursley) after a period off sick to
discover someone had replaced his 3270 with a PC; he was most annoyed
until he swapped it for a 3290. He did a lot of work with GDDM, but how
much that was a gooey or just a library for applications to generate
graphics I wouldn't know.

Needless to say, this is not a good idea.
