GDDM didn't provide GUI functionality per se, more
application-oriented graphics. Due to the way the 3270 datastream
works, implementing a GUI as we think of them isn't terribly practical.
That's not me trash-talking 3270; it's very well-designed and it
works amazingly well for what it was designed to do.
We regularly run GDDM applications on 3290 and other graphics
terminals at LSSM.
