I have read (where?) that the OS/2 Presentation Manager UI is based on GDDM.

I'm currently supporting another new AS/400 hobbyist — a professional Java developer — in expanding tn5250j to support GDDM. I hopefully can keep his motivation up. ;-)

Which 3270 (current?) emulators are known to support GDDM?
