I had some people fiddle with the cables, because they were within
reach. But overall my users were pretty well behaved, so I didn't
have much of a problem other than perhaps the print server machines
under the printer, and they got moved around a little bit (ie. looking
for printouts that fell behind, people messing with printers, etc).
But I'd say I'd never have had to replace a T or Terminator. If anything
some crappy NE2000 NIC clone would fry itself first, or a cable got yanked.

Yes, but in my experience, N connectors were rarely used, too much
effort to properly install them on that big of a cable. Just the ends.
Plus if you cut apart the cable the network would be down while
you were patching in. The vampire taps let you do it "live".

10-Base-5 cables were generally up out of reach (at least around me),
and only the AUI cable hung down. OOTH, 10-Base-2 cables typically
ran across the floor, behind the desk, computers, etc. , and who knows
where to get all tangled up in everything.
