[rescue] Sparcstation 20 fun

Hot on the heels of getting my Ultra 2 back working again, I dug out the SS20 that I've had for a long time.

Originally this was a 1 cpu machine, but I expanded it many years ago to quad Ross cpus and maxed out the memory etc.

It's been a few years since it last booted but it came up fine. NVRAM seemed ok.

But then I hit an issue. Although the network came up ok, and ifconfig reported all the correct values, I could only ping computers connected to the same local switch I'm using, and I couldn't see anything further afield.

All the settings checked out fine. Really scratched my head on this one.

It turned out the NVRAM was not fine. Even though it booted OK, and the Mac address looked sane. It wasn't. The Mac address on the le0 was getting forced to all zeros, and hence it was unable to function properly. Frankly I'm surprised ping worked locally.

Anyway a quick reset and all worked. That's the second one down, or up.
