And the T5220 is being weird.  It has three physical drives installed, 
all SUN 146GB, but /dev/rdsk shows only two of them and I can only 
access one of those two.

I can't boot the existing system (the X4540) at all.  If I could get it 
to boot I wouldn't be having this problem at all.  I've even tried to 
boot it from a Solaris 11.3 text install CD to do a fresh install and 
then re-import the additional pools, but it's almost impossible to do 
anything with it because the console (external or serial) is unreadable 
garbage.

I'm trying one workaround solution after another, and so far running 
into stone walls at every turn.  This is NOT how I wanted to be spending 
my Christmas vacation.
