IIRC, all the early Sun colour framebuffers (CG3, CG6, CG12, GT, etc) were composite-sync-on-green, as were the Sun CRTs.

Also, an aside: Sun *grayscale* CRTs did not connect red or blue pins, using just the green pin for both video *and* sync, so that those grayscale screens could be attached to Sun colour framebuffers and still work (net any frequency issues, of course).
